. good companions tuesday 2pm till 4pm at kingsmead kabin "A chance to come out and spend a few hours with friends, get to know new people and have a laugh and a chat..." (Good Companions volunteer) Good Companions is a welcoming space for older people open on Tuesday afternoons between 2 and 4 pm at the Kabin on Kingsmead Estate. If you can remember what it was like to live through the seventies, or those swinging sixties (or before) you'll enjoy the good companions. Sometimes we have a discussion, a guest to provoke discussion, a quiz or sometimes we play games - maybe cards, draughts or dominoes. Once a month, we all bring some food to share, and for the summer months we are planning some trips out. We always have a great discussion, and drink lots of tea and coffee! Everyone is welcome - so come and join in! new! Silver Surfers at the Kabin Silver surfers is a drop in computer session for everyone over 50 - even if you've never used a computer before! Silver Surfers is organised by Age Concern - Hackney, and runs in the Kabin every Wednesday morning between 10am and 1pm. You can learn about word processing or web design, or just how to turn the computer on and get started! It's not a class, so it doesn't matter if you can't come every week, and everyone learns at their own speed. We have a tutor to provide support if you need it, or you can just do your own thing.
